In The Beginning it Was a Standard T5.1 Transporter Highline Van

The Transporters amazing craftmanship by Volkswagen as standard will only be enhanced once the conversion is completed, the photographs below show how our journey begins.
A standard 2014 VW Transporter Van with 78,000 mile on the clock, specifically chosen due to it’s outstanding condition and excellent service history.
As you can see, it’s all completely standard, but over the coming weeks we will guide you through how we converted this factory standard Transporter to a refined, stylish well equipped campervan.
Our newly purchased all iconic Volkswagen Transporter van arrived with us Tuesday 11th August early evening, as you can see, pulling up on the trailer.
We specifically chose the Highline model as this comes with lots of specification as standard, such as cruise control, rear parking aid, leather steering wheel, coloured coded bumpers, the all-important air conditioning and much more!
This allows for the new conversion to be complimented with all the refinements you would expect for style, comfort and practicality.
The Transporters journey is still yet at the beginning, we have overcome the first major hurdle “choosing the right van” this is one of the most important parts of the process as it forms the all important base to your conversion.
Initially the internal ply boarding in the rear of the van will be removed to make way for the installation, then the divide between the cab and the rear section will be removed, this will create the blank canvas in preparation for the conversion.
You will find certain trims will need to be replaced along the way, as we have to remember the van started its journey as a “work horse” There are many different cost effective suppliers online who will be able to supply these additional parts, such as the sill trims, door mouldings, dash trims as replacing these really will make a huge difference to the finishing touch.
